Last week we received David and Loretta's graduation announcement. I must confess, it brought tears to my eyes. I am so proud of both of them. It hasn't been easy, and not many people thought they would do it, but they have celebrated their TWELFTH wedding anniversary AND completed college. As you can see from the announcement, they didn't do it in a small way either! Congratulations David! Congratulations Loretta! I hope you are as proud of yourselves as we are at this house!
(Thanks to Allyson for constructing fifty of these cool handmade announcements!) (And for those of you who don't know- "Summa Cum Laude" indicates STRAIGHT A's all four years through a rigorous program!!) (I know pride is a sin, but I'm the mama...it can't be helped!)

Those two are pretty amazing!
As I was telling some people I know just the other day, for once I am actually kind of proud of myself. And David too, of course.
Summa cum laude means "with highest honor," and while in my case, it does indicate that I got all A's throughout college, different universities (and even different colleges within universities) have different standards for their honors designations. Frankly, I'm pretty shocked that with a 3.8-something-or-other in the College of Engineering that David didn't get magna cum laude, or at least cum laude. Oh well. He still did a great job.
And Allyson did do such wonderful work with those announcements. I've been letting everyone who has contacted me about them know that she's the one that deserves the compliments. :)
I was wondering too about David's status. I agree that's pretty darn commendable!
Amazing story of the two who are graduating. And also amazing is the fact that Allyson made 50 of those cute cards for the announcements!
Allyson did a great job on those announcements. let them know I said congrats, please. I have no way of getting a hold of them. I'm not able to see their blog to tell them myself. thanks.
