Jam Jewels

Yesterday, the postman came to my door and rang my new doorbell. (It's chime is totally obnoxious, by the way.)

I was expecting him. We were waiting for pencil sharpeners from Oriental Trading to finish the School Kits we made at Humanitarian Wednesday this week.

The mail carrier brought the pencil sharpeners.. But he also brought an unexpected surprise!

A package from my Cowgirl-Queen friend in Wyoming.

A totally unexpected, early birthday surprise! I was so thrilled. I was even more thrilled when I opened it and saw what it was. (See photo above.)

I made a card and wrote the Cowgirl-Queen a thank you note that didn't begin to express how grateful I am for her gift and her friendship.

I then realized I didn't have her address on my computer. I had two mission addresses and two BC addresses, but no Wyoming address. So, I wrote her this email. (A copy of which you are reading in this post!)

Then, I realized that of course there would have been an address on the box in which came the unexpected surprise.

So I put on my shoes, got a flashlight, and went out to the recycling bucket. There it was!

But I sent her the email anyway.

I wanted to immediately open the jam and eat some on toast . But it is so pretty, I think I'll just let it sit on my counter for a while.

Thanks for totally making my day, Sylvia. Watch for a proper "thank you" in the mail!

Linda,
I just love the lace and flower border on your blog. Makes me kind of jealous....
The jams you received from Sylvia look yummy. What time should I be over for coffee and toast in the morning? Ha!

Happy Birthday Linda! It is time to bust open the gems if you haven't already. Have a wonderful day. I am sad to miss the girl's lunch, but alas, I must.
