Quote of the Moment 2

Sydney: Mom! Nathan was calling me "Liar, liar, pants on fire - hanging from the telephone wire!"
Allyson: Why was he calling you that? What were you doing?
Sydney: Lying.

If the moniker fits...

Stats

This is the "little squish" who lives too far away.

I don't get to kiss those cheeks often enough. (Sorry, Amy. It was just too cute of Ammy not to post...)

This is the girl who orders a polish dog at Costco, adds condiments, then removes the "dog" and eats the bun with sauerkraut and relish.
This is the girl who turns five tomorrow and wanted an Ariel costume for her birthday. But she wanted the bottom sewn together so she could "swim" around like a real mermaid. Don't worry. She doesn't need to walk. She'll just sit there. We compromised on a velcro opening...

This is the boy who is missing almost every other tooth in his mouth. All he wants for Christmas is his "three front teeth!"

This is the girl who is an amazing singer and dancer. And beautiful too.

This is the girl who is an incredible actress. Yes, the one who never spoke to anyone in public from age three to age eight. You'd never know it now!

Yes. I have the greatest grandkids in the world....

Sweet Sixteen

Our sweet little Wonderful-Blessing-Surprise-Baby will be 16 next week. Because her birthday always falls so close to Thanksgiving, she hasn't had a "friend party" in years. In honor of her "Sweet 16" she had a "Marvelous Masquerade Brunch" this morning.

The girls had a delicious meal.

They decorated gorgeous masks.

They played games and did lots of giggling. In fact, the giggling sounded about the same as at Maddie's party when she turned 7!

Once again...

...I am amazed at how quickly I fall in love!

I have always loved babies and I enjoy seeing other people's new babies and holding them and playing with them. Babies are adorable and sweet and innocent. They are fun to hold and then fun to give back!

But when we have a new baby in the family, it immediately becomes so much more! Our babies are all adorable and sweet and innocent AND they are mine! I immediately feel totally connected to them and can not even look at them without an outpouring of love. My heart is full-to-overflowing.

I'm so glad Heavenly Father organized us into families. And I am so grateful for each and every member of my family. I love them all! And right now, I especially love this adorable little sleepy guy!

(Thanks again for the blog-lifted photos, Amy!)

Quote of the Moment

In the tradition of The Amazing Anderkids (man, those kids are funny!) here is our whispered conversation in the middle of church yesterday.
Aubrey, age 4, looking at numbers written on Maddie's hand: Did everyone get a "7" and a "5" or just you?
Maddie: Everyone had a different number.
Nana: Did you know those numbers or did Maddie tell them to you?
Aubrey: I just knew them.
Nana: Man, you are getting smarter every day. You are one smart girl!
Aubrey: (Stares at Nana for a few seconds) FROGS are not smart. They eat each other! One frog swallows the other frog and it gets stuck in his throat. And then they BOTH die!!

Um. Yeah. Those frogs. They are really dumb.

I didn't know how to respond to that one. Just had to laugh out loud!

I love having grandchildren!

Get Busy!

Why don't I just buckle down (or is it "knuckle down?" I can't decide!**) and pay my bills?

Looking at old photos is making me sad, anyway!
